Writing has been around for thousands of years. It has inspired millions and created a means of escape for others. It is a form of therapy and communication to those we care about the most. If you want to know how someone thinks, read what they write. I write as an escape and as a form of communication. In the outside world, I'm introverted and rarely say what I mean unless I am close to you. I have experiences that not a lot of people go through. I write to show people that they are not alone in their experiences.

When life becomes rough, it is best to have an escape. Writing allows you to run into your imaginary world for a little while. When I was younger, I would go sit somewhere comfortable and write poetry or stories. My poetry isn't the stereotypical dark poetry that one sees or hears about. I could sit and escape the bullying and the world for a little while. It didn't help that my classmates thought I was weird, so they would leave me alone during elementary and middle school. So I would write short stories in various genres, some of which were mystery or humor. Mysteries are my favorite genre to write. I was over-dramatic as a child, so it was perfect to get all of that energy out.

There are some experiences that are uncomfortable hearing about, so that's why people write about them. Writing about experiences helps with the anxiety and helps form coherent thoughts. For those who don't want to come forward about situations that happened, it provides comfort. It shows, depending on the situation, that there is a light at the end of the tunnel. I have been through a lot in my life that some would think is ridiculous, but to others would be a beacon of light. I have had others ask about certain experiences and I was able to provide my experiences even if they were good or bad.

Whenever you are texting someone, or typing on social media, you are expressing your thoughts without the need to physically talk to someone. I feel uncomfortable talking to someone for long periods of time, so that's why I write. Whenever I talk, I tend to mess up my speech because my words are slower than my brain. People tend to make fun of me when I talk at my work place because my words come out weird or the statements don't make sense. I know that practice makes perfect, but my anxiety is that devil on my shoulder whispering things to mess me up.

Writing has been a form of communication for those who can't or are afraid to speak. It has been a source of therapy for many, and a means of escape. When you read someone's writing, you read about their thought process and how they interpret everything. I write as a means of escape and therapy, because of my experiences. I am doing what I do best and that is forming my thought process through writing.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
