"We don't need to have just one favorite. We keep adding favorites..." - Lloyd Alexander

Since October came to a smashing end on Monday, it's time for a favorites article! The air has turned cold and then warm again (record high temps in Atlanta this week for November), and the leaves have mystically changed colors, and I have enjoyed many things this month!

Music

I've been listening to a lot of different things this month: a lot of pop, a little rap, and some indie, so pretty typical of my music taste. Much of this music is new to me but not technically new. So, without further adieu, here is my October Spotify playlist!

Beauty

I did a little too much online shopping this month due to my love of fall colors and fall scents. One of my favorite purchases has been from Witch Baby Soap, an online store full of yummy soaps, scrubs and bath bombs. I bought the Dead By Dawn bath bomb, Love bath bomb, Hallowmas bath bomb, and their Cafeomancy Autumn Edition scrub. My favorite (and admittedly only) one I've used is the scrub, which I'm in love with. It consists mostly of ground coffee, pumpkin purée, and essential oils. I love it because it smells delicious, I know what all the ingredients are, and It makes my skin amazingly soft. I use it before and after I shave, which is awesome because usually with a salt scrub it will start to sting if I use it after I shave. It's nothing less than delicious, and I expect the same of their bath bombs!

My second beauty favorite is the new duo-chrome highlighters from Colourpop! I bought their colors Honeymoon, which is silver with a blue flip, and Over the Moon, which is silver with a violet flip. Both are so incredibly beautiful, and I have gotten so many compliments on them! They're actually very wearable, despite what it may sound like, and only shine really bright when sun hits them directly. As always, Colourpop, well done!

Blogs / Stores

I love the Literary Magazine class I'm taking in school this year. It combines my love of literature with my love of art and also puts me in a work-like setting. All of this lead me to my favorite blog of the month, The Messy Heads! It's basically a college student-driven literary magazine and blog. I bought the newest edition of their magazine Rebel Rebel. I've also been shamelessly stalking their adamantly positive and creative blog, which I love as well. I also discovered an online store by an artist named Ilse Valfré. Her drawings are both cute and creepy, and her designs are impeccable. I recently bought her "no vacancy" t-shirt, and I've been enjoying her drawings on my Instagram feed all month! If you want to follow her, her handle is @valfre, and I'd definitely recommend it!

YouTubers

Last but not least, my favorite YouTubers of the month! I have three, and I think I'll start with my beloved Jordi. Jordi, or @itslikelymakeup on almost all social media, is my favorite of all time, but she has been great in October. She does makeup videos year-round, but for Halloween she did a full series of videos with so many different and pretty easy (!) looks. Even though I didn't use any of her looks, she's fun and personable to watch, and watch I did. My second favorite YouTuber for this month is @simply_kenna. McKenna is sweet and soft spoken, but if you are an autumn person, as I am, she has a lot of fun, interesting videos to fulfill your fall needs. My final favorite YouTuber is Arden Rose. Arden (her handle is different on almost all of her social media) is a popular lifestyle YouTuber who is extremely personable, funny, and positive. She does all kinds of videos, from period talks to fashion hauls, and each one is like she's talking to a good friend.

So that's my few favorites for October! This month I'm going to focus on having less electronic and more tangible or print favorites. Tune in next month for my November favorites!

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
