The Many Uses Of Coconut Oil
Eating Made Easy

Recently, coconut oil has become a hot topic being talked about almost everywhere. In cooking recipes, health magazine or you find yourself hearing your friends talk about it, and you are wondering, “What is so great about this product?” Coconut oil can be used in multiple ways. There is a never-ending list of things that you can do with the oil; I have provided you with a list of my personal favorites.

  1. Use it for tanning oil, not only does it make you golden, it moisturizes your skin all at the same time. (It is cheaper that traditional tanning lotions too!)
  2. Use it as a substitution for butter, cook it with your eggs, and spread it on your toast, yum.
  3. Put it on the ends of your hair, just a small amount is all that you need to control your fly away pieces and to keep your hair from frizzing.
  4. You can use it as an overnight deep conditioner.
  5. Add some sugar and mix it together and you have your very own DIY lip scrub.
  6. Apply a small amount to dry areas of your skin as a moisturizer; you will be feeling hella smooth.
  7. It is a great makeup remover! You have difficult mascara that never seems to come off? Rub a small amount on your eyelashes and you will never have that problem.
  8. It reduces stretch marks, awesome!
  9. It is a cooking oil you can cook on high without the danger.
  10. It is a great thing to add to your smoothies because it is good for you to eat as well.
  11. Add it to your coffee or tea for an extra energy boost.
  12. Forget aloe; rub coconut oil on your skin to reduce the burn after sunburn.
  13. Mix it with salt and you got yourself a great foot scrub.
  14. It can be used a natural deodorant (only thing I haven’t used it for but I am dying to try it).
  15. It helps you recover from UTIs and yeast infections (sorry TMI but you will thank me later).
  16. Put it on your cuticles—your nails will love you, I promise!
  17. Use it to make homemade natural granola.
  18. If you like to make your own makeup, you can use it as an ingredient to make homemade makeup with it.
  19. Adding it to your diet is all around a healthy move for you to do. It helps almost every part of your body from the inside out.
  20. The best de-tangler I have ever used. Just run your fingers through your hair once you apply it to the ends and with in seconds you will be saying “Holy cow, that was easy!"

Coconut oil is not for everyone. I recommend using organic, or choosing the jar with the fewer toxins on the label when buying at the store, because people can easily be allergic to coconut oil, finding coconut oil has changed my life. As you see there are multi ways coconut oil can be used, these were just a few of my favorites that I use myself on a regular basis. So I guess you can say most of these twenty suggestions have already been “done and approved.” This is why coconut oil can be listed as a “super food” due to its unlimited amounts of using it.

Enjoy!

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
