Social media is one of the main channels for challenges and various crazes to go viral. Many may remember the Ice Bucket Challenge, planking, Harlem Shake, the hot pepper challenge and the cinnamon challenge, and some of us may have made our own attempts of them. Well, there is a new craze making the rounds on social media that you should definitely try: the #MannequinChallenge.

To take part in the challenge, the process is pretty simple. Participants have to stay as still as possible while holding a pose, much like mannequins do in stores, while someone weaves in and out of the group videotaping the whole challenge. The video is usually accompanied by Rae Sremmurd’s “Black Beatles” ft. Gucci Mane.

Super simple right? No eating of a spoonful of cinnamon sugar or eating a chili pepper is required. Just grab a group of friends, strike various poses, film the challenge and you are all good to go. However, the more impressive the poses are, the more impressive the challenge is. Take for example the following #MannequinChallenge done by BYU Cougar's Gymnastics team.

How is holding some of those moves for that long even possible? That's so impressive and crazy all at the same time, and I don't know about you, but I was just cringing at thinking about having to hold some of their impressive moves. Teach me your ways!

This craze has even taken off with celebrities, such as Destiny Child and Kevin Hart, along with various sports teams and Hillary Clinton even made her own video for the challenge.

The origin of this new viral craze has been traced back to high school students at the Edward H. White High School in Jacksonville, Florida. These students posted their own attempt on Twitter on October 26.

Since the very first video of the challenge, individuals have taken to Instagram and other social media sites to post their own attempts of the challenge. As of November 9, the challenge had reached 149,583 posts on Instagram, but the number continues to go up on Instagram and Twitter Daily.

What's the significance of the song you may be wondering? Well, there really is no significance whatsoever. The first video featured the song and the other attempts have followed suit.

Would you be up to do this challenge?

I think the hardest thing about going away to college is figuring out how to become an adult. Leaving a household where your parents took care of literally everything (thanks, Mom!) and suddenly becoming your own boss is overwhelming. I feel like I'm doing a pretty good job of being a grown-up, but once in awhile I do something that really makes me feel like I'm #adulting. Twenty-somethings know what I'm talking about.

I went to a small high school, like 120-people-in-my-graduating-class small. It definitely had some good and some bad, and if you also went to a small high school, I’m sure you’ll relate to the things that I went through.

1. If something happens, everyone knows about it

Who hooked up with whom at the party? Yeah, heard about that an hour after it happened. You failed a test? Sorry, saw on Twitter last period. Facebook fight or, God forbid, real fight? It was on half the class’ Snapchat story half an hour ago. No matter what you do, someone will know about it.

Working with the public can be a job, in and of itself. Some people are just plain rude for no reason. But regardless of how your day is going, always having to be in the best of moods, or at least act like it... right?

1. When a customer wants to return a product, hands you the receipt, where is printed "ALL SALES ARE FINAL" in all caps.

2. Just because you might be having a bad day, and you're in a crappy mood, doesn't make it okay for you to yell at me or be rude to me. I'm a person with feelings, just like you.

3. People refusing to be put on hold when a customer is standing right in front of you. Oh, how I wish I could just hang up on you!

RBF, or resting b*tch face, is a serious condition that many people suffer from worldwide. Suffers are often bombarded with daily questions such as "Are you OK?" and "Why are you so mad?" If you have RBF, you've probably had numerous people tell you to "just smile!"

While this question trend can get annoying, there are a couple of pros to having RBF.

Another day, another Elle Woods comment. Can’t us blondes get through the day without someone harping at us over the typical stereotypes about who we are? I never understood why a person was judged based upon the hair color they were born with, or the hair color they choose to have (unless you dye your hair blue like Kylie Jenner, I’m still trying to understand why that’s a trend). Nevertheless, as it should be assumed, not everyone is the same. Not all blondes like bright colors and Lilly Pulitzer, and not all blondes claim to identify with Marilyn Monroe. I think the best suggestion to give to people before they make such radical claims is to stop judging a book by its cover. Or in this case, stop judging a blonde by her hair color.
