I have never been the daughter that thought my mom was the most amazing person in the entire world, especially when I was growing up and living at home. I always thought “she was out to get me” or “wanted to ruin my life”, but after leaving home and growing up a bit more, I have completely turned into a Mama’s girl. Moms are the best people and are always there for you no matter how badly you screw up; they are your rock. I do not know where I would be without my Mom and I hope that some or most of you feel this way too and if you're a Mom Groupie, like me, you might understand these few things.>Having hour long phone conversations with your mom because you have to update her about everything going on in your life, even about that boy that you hooked up with and then say him making out with another girl the next night.
1. Calling her at one in the morning because you're so stressed from classes, exams, work, and keeping up with everything that you just need to hear her voice and somehow she says everything right and you instantly become more calm about everything.
2.Packing up everything at a moment's notice and just driving home because you need to be taken care of and your mom is standing there at the door when you do come home with open arms and sometimes chocolate chip cookies, or your favorite food.
3.Wishing that your mom was born in the same year as you, so that you two could be actual best friends going through everything together instead of being what feels like a million years apart
4. Laughing to the point of tears with your mom because she tries to use the “new cool lingo” and completely mispronounces everything and still continues to do so even after you tell her how to say it correctly
5. Missing your mom so much that anytime anyone else mom comes to visit you get just as excited, because all moms are great and if you cannot see your own why not get excited to see someone else's mom?
6. Seeing a text from her every so often saying something encouraging or heartfelt like “good luck on your test, I know you'll do great” or “just wanted to check in and let you know that i'm thinking of you” and just automatically a smile comes across your face.
7. Saying your true feelings or something that you cannot tell anyone else and feeling completely safe to the point you have nothing left unsaid. But the most important thing about that conversation is that you know whatever you say will stay between the two of you.
There are just some people in your life that will always be there for you and will always care and for me, that person is my mom and I hope that for some of you that is the case too and even if it is not I hope that you have someone in your life like how my mom is to me.
