Making Every Location Dog-Friendly

A new way to have more adventures with your dog.

Ever wanted to go shopping but felt bad because you had to leave your dog at home? If you live in a city you know the struggle because so many stores don't allow dogs. It's nerve wracking tying your dog up outside a store -- it could get stolen or lost. Not to mention, the sadness of not being able to spend quality time with your dog. Just think about all of the walks and fun times you're missing out on when you can't take your dog with you while running errands.

Fortunately, fellow dog lovers, Chelsea Brownridge and Todd Schechter, have come up with a solution for missed adventures -- Dog Parker!

Dog parker is a mini-doghouse that secures your dog outside stores as you shop. It launched in November, and is currently available in Brooklyn. However, Dog Parker can contact you to let you know when it is coming to your city! It is secure, vet-approved, comfortable and clean. Dog Parker has its own app that connects to your phone so you can check on your dog at all times. It's super safe -- Dog Parker has a key for each owner that only unlocks the door for their dog.

According to its website, Dog Parker is "faster and safer than tying your dog up." When you walk into a store, you simply check your dog in, and then as you leave, you both can continue to enjoy the day! There's no stress and your dog is in no danger and has as good of a time as you.

Not only does Dog Parker improve the owner-pet relationship, it also improves the business-customer relationship. It improves business because the store no longer has to turn away dog owners. By placing a Dog Parker outside a business it becomes a “dog-friendly” business without the hassle of having a dog actually in the store.

I see a potential for Dog Parker to have a presence on college campuses. Imagine being able to take your dog to your classes with you, but not have to worry about them during class. You can enjoy your day with your dog while still having time to focus on your academics. You'd no longer have to feel bad about leaving your dog at home alone all day or having to rush home midday to let them out.

Dog Parker will redefine city environments, allowing for happier pets and happier people! I'm excited to see Dog Parker outside many businesses and public places.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
