We all have to do it at some point, make that dreaded trip to the DMV. Sitting there for hours just to do something that shouldn’t take that long. While we try to avoid it as much as possible, it’s practically inevitable. The DMV might suck, but here are 9 ways to make it suck a little less!

1. Get there early

I know, seems obvious right? But when I say get there early, I mean really get there early. Wake up, get some breakfast and try to get there at least 45 minutes before they open.

2. Bring snacks/drinks with you

You’ll probably be waiting there a little while. Nothing makes the wait drag more than the grumbles of a hungry belly!

3. Bring everything and anything you might need

Whether you’re going to register a vehicle or turning in plates, always double check to make sure you have everything you need so you don’t have to come back.

4. Bring some work with you

If you’re in school or have some stuff to do for work, do it while you wait. It’s pretty much the perfect time to do it since you have nothing to do but wait!

5. Bring your phone

When bringing your phone make sure to bring some headphones and a portable charger! You wouldn’t want your phone to die while waiting.

6. Bring a friend

The DMV sucks when there’s no one to talk to, drag a friend along with you! Make it fun. Bring cards to play while you’re waiting.

7. Dress comfortable

Not saying go in your pajamas (I mean I’m not judging if you do) but dress comfortable! No need to dress all fancy just for the DMV.

8. Make sure to be patient

Getting frustrated or angry is not going to make the wait go by any faster. It’ll just make you more miserable. Just take deep breathes, you’ll get taken care of.

9. Be nice to those who work there

I promise you, your kindness will go a long way to them. Yelling at them is not in any way going to make you get out of there any faster. It’ll just make both of you grumpy

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
