Giving Is Something We Should Do More Often

The holidays should not be your only excuse to give.

During the Christmas season, it is easy to get caught up in ourselves and making our Christmas lists and thinking of the things that we want, but that is not what Christmas is about. Christmas should be more about spending time with the people that you love and giving to others. Giving is definitely something that we should do during the holidays, but we should also give more during the other times of the year.

Think about the people that are less fortunate. It is good to give to those who do not have much. Volunteer time at food shelters, give to the homeless, volunteer for different things. Helping others is such a good feeling. It is nice to know that you are helping people during the Christmas season.

Lift others up, give to people, make others feel loved during this season. Christmas is such a happy season and it should be filled with joy. Lift others up and spread love and joy. There are people where this season may be hard for them because they may not have anyone to share it with. Make these people feel loved and wanted.

If you can't give physical items to people, you can simply give your time. Spend time with people and show them that they are loved and wanted. Spending quality time with others can be a better gift than a physical presence to some people.

Giving will make others happy, which will then make you happy to know that you are doing good for others and making other people feel good.

Giving should not be about feeling good about yourself. You should give to others for the right reasons. Give to others to make other people happy, and to spread love and joy during the holiday season. Giving should be about others, you should not be giving to only please yourself.

Giving and seeing others happy and excited about what you give them will instantly bring you joy as well. Seeing others happy will make you happy. Enjoying bringing others happiness will make you want to give to others and help the people around you.

Bragging about what you are doing for others is also the wrong mindset to have during the holiday season. You should give to others out of the kindness of your heart and expect nothing in return. Do not brag about how many presents you bought for other people or how much money you spent. Simply give to those you love and care about because you love them. Giving should not feel like an obligation.

We should give not only during the holiday season but every season. We should not need a reason such as a holiday to give to others. If you ever feel like giving to someone randomly, you should, because giving is always a good way to make someone smile.

Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
