Setting goals is always important to do.

Everyone has goals, but sometimes they are difficult to execute. I have been there. I also have goals, but sometimes I give up on them or don't know how to achieve them. That is why I am here to tell you ways I believe are great to achieving your goals or just making them.

First, I think collecting your thoughts is good. Think about all of things that you would like to achieve and make a list; it can be detailed or very general. This list can be a compilation of ideas of things you may wish to achieve or books you want to read, chores you may want to get done, improving your mood, and much more.

Having a clear idea of what you would like to accomplish will help you create a plan when attempting to achieving your goals. Next, I would look for a journal, planner, or online resource in which you can write down your goals. It is always helpful to physically see your goals because then they aren't just a fleeting memory. Always make sure you are in the right mindset to complete these goals as well.

Now that you have your goals written down, elaborate on them. Maybe you have said you want to read more books this month; pick maybe a handful of books you hope to read this month. Now your goal isn't so general. Rather it has been elaborated on and now you have a visual list of things you want to get done to complete this goal. Now maybe one of your goals is a long time goal such as losing weight or saving money.

Give yourself a visual representation of your goal. Pinterest always has good ideas for these visual representations. After you do this, make a list of ways you believe you can achieve these goals. These could be things like eating less carbs or not eating out.

After you collect your thoughts and elaborate on your goals, track or log your progress. If you have made no progress, it's okay! If you at least make sure to look at your goal each day, you will be reminded to not forget about your goals. If you find yourself not being able to complete a goal or are no longer paying attention to it, don't give up on it, just reassess it. Reassessing the goal will help you see where you are in your life and if this goal is still applicable. Make sure your mindset is determined and ready to change.

I believe goals are important for everyone to have. They allow you to make a change in your life that you may not have known how to change. Following through with your goals is just as important as setting goals for yourself though. So go out and find your goals and create a better environment for yourself.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.
