This list is in alphabetical order, by major. Try to find your specialization!
1. Aerospace Engineering: “To infinity and beyond!"
("Toy Story," 1995). I mean, Buzz Lightyear is probably the inspiration for all NASA employees.
2. Biology: “It’s alive! It’s alive!”
("Frankenstein," 1931).
3. Business: “I’m going to make him an offer he can’t refuse.”
("The Godfather," 1972). Let's go future CEOs! But maybe follow that entrepreneurial American Dream more gently than the characters in this movie.
4. Communication: “Mama always said life was like a box of chocolates. You never know what you're gonna get.”
("Forrest Gump," 1994). Given the flexibility of the degree, no two communication majors are the same. Some want to be journalists on TV and some want to practice law - you never know what you're going to get when you meet one!
5. Education: "You is kind. You is smart. You is important.”
("The Help", 2011). Kids are the future. Teachers contribute to raising these kids immeasurably so that the younglings believe in themselves! Hats off to the teachers that make confident world-shakers.
6. Fine Arts: "The human race is filled with passion. And medicine, law, business, engineering, these are noble pursuits and necessary to sustain life. But poetry, beauty, romance, love, these are what we stay alive for."
("Dead Poets Society," 1989). Of course, Robin Williams always declares it best. The artists among us truly do know the meaning of "carpe diem" and chasing their sparks of passion.
7. History: "The past is just a story we tell ourselves."
8. International Studies: “I've a feeling we’re not in Kansas anymore."
("The Wizard of Oz," 1939). Let me know how all of your exciting and glamorous study-abroad experiences go!
9. Mathematics: "Some infinities are simply bigger than other infinities."
("The Fault In Our Stars," 2014). Okay, technically infinity is a mathematical abstract concept that humans cannot actually comprehend and compare in sizes. But, John Green makes it sound so darn romantic and wonderful for math majors everywhere!
10. Philosophy: “You can’t handle the truth!”
("A Few Good Men," 1992). "Then, what even is the truth?" - every Introduction to Philosophy professor, ever.
11. Physics: “May the Force be with you.”
("Star Wars," 1977). More like: may the "mass x acceleration" be with you! Am I right, nerds?
12. Political Science: "They may take our lives, but they'll never take our freedom!”
("Braveheart," 1995). If you're a POLS major who is interested in American theory and government, Lady Liberty is likely your main squeeze.
13. Pre-Law: "You must always have faith in other people. And, most importantly, you must always have faith in yourself."
('Legally Blonde," 2001). The road to landing your dream job at a law firm is winding, but the law is meant for helping others and aiding in the pursuit of justice. Oh, and if you desire to get into Harvard - I believe in you. Like timeless icon, Elle Woods, says, "what, like it's hard?"14. Psychology: “A boy's best friend is his mother.”
("Psycho," 1960). I will let Sigmund Freud handle this one...
15. Sports Management: “There’s no crying in baseball!”
("A League of Their Own," 1992). Losing is hard for everyone, but Tom Hanks says it best!
16. Theology: “Every time a bell rings, an angel gets his wings.”
("It's a Wonderful Life," 1946). Otherworldly spirits, like angels, are likely to make an appearance in many of the holy texts that theology majors have to read.
