Through the years, friends come and go. However, there tends to be one friend that sticks around and never seems to leave. It's like the gum on the bottom of your shoe that you could never get off but now has become a part of your life. You can't remember your life without the gum that's stuck to your shoe. Maggie is my gum. She isn't Juicy Fruit, Orbit or Trident. She's like Fruit Stripe with the cool temporary tattoos on the wrappers.

Don't get me wrong, she can be a little Extra some days, but, overall, she's her usual fruity, colorful greatness. Find you a Maggie. She displays the best qualities.

1. Get you a friend that just completes you.

Maggies knows by one look how I feel. She can tell if I've eaten based on my level of sassiness for the day. The Snickers motto, "You're not you when you're hungry" is all too real for me. She knows the people I dislike and, if they breathe in my direction, I am ready to rant about it for the next four days. Maggie always knows how this scenario goes and listens anyways.

2. Get you a friend that understands your love language.

Who needs a significant other? Not us. Significant others are a waste of time. There are no tears in our relationships with our top four priorities. We love naps, Netflix, food and alcohol. No particular order, but those are our top four priorities in life. The only time there are tears is if we watch "Hachi: A Dog's Tale."

3. Get you a friend that makes you laugh.

This friend has a direct link to your funny bone. Nothing is better than having the same sense of humor. What is better than having a gut-wrenching laugh at the most random things? There is no answer to this question. The classic one-liners and the infamous hilarious tinder profiles will never not be funny.

4. Get you a friend who knows how to cheer you up.

There are a few things that cheer me up. One of which is a nice margarita with some delicious Mexican food. Is there ever such a thing as too much Mexican food? Cady Heron would say that the limit does not exist. The more exciting one is a car jam sesh. Who doesn't love to make a fool of themselves and sing the wrong lyrics at the top of their lungs? What makes these jam sessions better is the fact that there is photographic evidence that will never be erased.

5. Get you a friend so time doesn't matter.

No matter how much time passes, your friendship will never fade. You could not see that person for six months and, magically, when you see each other next, it was like you never left. This is a great quality to have in a friendship because after awhile, everyone goes their own way in life. It's always nice to know that you have a place to visit when your life seems a little less bright without them around.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
