Dahlonega Care Center (DCC) is a pregnancy resource center, known previously for their high end thrift shop. However, the board recently decided to approach fundraising from a new position and closed the struggling thrift store. In its place, they opened a space for local artists to sell their products for a low monthly fee of $40.
They accept only high quality products dedicated to the end of presenting fashionable, handmade goods to the citizens of Dahlonega. The name of this facility is Locally Crafted Market.
10 percent of sales will go toward the Dahlonega Care Center, a non-profit, which provides for women and children in need. It is run by Mrs. Karen Gilpin Bowden, a gentle, kindhearted woman with a ready smile. She and her staff sacrifice numerous hours for few financial rewards in order to serve the worthy women of Dahlonega.
Women from all walks of life come to DCC for loving and compassionate care. They receive baby items, ultrasounds, adoption referrals, educational opportunities and other services, for free! Mrs. Bowden and others at the facility provide a means for men and women to keep their babies and to keep them in comfort.
Take a peak at the products available at the only non-profit craft market in Dahlonega, and consider if your crafts have a home here.
Other means to contribute include volunteering, donations of baby items and financial donations here.
