Often times, as we grow up, we encounter many people. Some of those people we really connect with and others not so much. Friends will come in and out of our lives like crazy. You will encounter some of the best friends and the worst. Never forget to let those who love you in and accept their love.
On August 5, 2016, I dealt with a loss that changed my life forever. I lost of my best friends to suicide. Logan Jacob Wagner was the most genuine, loving, and caring person. He was a friend, brother, son, nephew, grandson to many but most importantly, Logan was a child of the Lord. He loved other people so much that often times he was blinded to the love being shown right back to him. Logan taught me many thing through our friendship and the #1 lesson I learned from him was the importance of loving myself. Logan made it his goal in life to show other people how much he loved and appreciated them.
When Logan passed away, many others along with myself were left to understand why something like this happened, and how it could possibly happen to someone we love and care about. This event was a true test of faith. It challenged all of us to think about our lives and what we needed to do to ensure this would never happen again.
One common theme we saw in Logan's life and the mark he left on u was the way he loved. He loved others in such a way that was so unique and special. He loves others in a way that was so impactful. This kind of love is something that will never go unnoticed. It is also the kind of love everyone needs to exhibit. Loving others in such a way that leaves a lasting impact on those around you. This love is unconditional. This unconditional love can be displayed in several ways, even in the little things. Simply sharing a funny or inspirational tweet with someone exhibit this kind of love. Love is something that is often overused or used in a non-sentimental way. However, it is something necessary for everyone to have in their life.
Unconditional love has been present forever. Jesus walked and died on a cross for you because he loved you. If that isn't unconditional love I don't know what is. We live every day because Jesus died for us. Do we deserve it? Absolutely not. We don't deserve a lot of the things we get. Despite that, we still get the chance to live out our dreams and be unique. This lesson is something it took a while for me to learn.
It took someone I love and care about passing away for me to realize how vital love is to our existence as humans. So, love one another as God has loved you. Hug your friends and family. Tell them they mean something to you. Extend the words, "I Love You."
