Love Your Curly Hair

My curly hair has been one of my biggest time-consumers going up. Growing up I wanted to have straight hair but then I thought to myself that curly hair gives more volume and it suits me better. When I was in high school I had more hair, but then one time I decided to cut it and it never grew back.

I appreciate my curly hair even though it requires me to wash my hair mostly every day if the week and use many products. You must have patience and time having curly hair. Curly hair is about having the technique and not getting annoyed about it.

When I went to State College many people had straight hair only and I let my natural hair out. My hair is my beauty it is who I am and it is part of me. I stopped straightening my hair a long time ago. I feel that no one should feel the pressure to have their hair a certain way to please people.

Wear your hair as you want and be proud of who you are. I've tried many hair products on my head. I love to use creams and gels. Gels help my curly hair not to get frizzy if I use only creams for my hair would get frizzy and untamed. My hair has a mind of its own some days I just let it be.

The worst thing a curly-headed person can hear is "I like your straight better" or "you should keep your hair in a bun". When people talk about someone's natural hair or my natural hair, I shut that down quickly. It is annoying that you are disrespecting someone like that. Many people have told me before that they did not like my natural hair and I couldn't care less to be honest because people will literally saw things that have no sense. If you don't like my natural hair, cover your eyes, pal.

I will always love my natural hair no matter what anyone says because you need to embrace every part of yourself from your head to your toes. LIFE IS ONE AND YOU ONLY GET ONE BODY I ASSURE YOU. You need to love your hair because it is your beauty and is something that you need to admire yourself.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.
