Poetry On Odyssey: Lunar Lover

I am my most happy self when the moon is high.

In the light of the full moon, there is a peace that is drawn out from deep within the soul.

This peace slowly seeps through my being,

I drink it in just like my hot tea.

I love the moon.

There is a purity drawn out by its mild light when it reaches its peak.

The subtle ticks and chirps made by the creatures frightened by the creatures of the sun are heard throughout the still air.

You can hear the sound of flapping made by the winged creatures that pass the moon's light.

The sound of the night cannot be rivaled by the sounds of the day,

The quiet stillness barely ever broken by sound once the moon is high.

The slightly crisp breeze brings the smell of people warming themselves by small fires.

Occasionally a sweet smell is carried with the breeze bringing you feelings and memories of family and friends.

With all these wonders I enjoy and sometimes see I always look back at the gorgeous moon.

God did not design it to be as the sun,

The sun is the waking symbol for all life,

It is the bringer and the sustainer.

I think of the moon as the watchmen of our slumber and dreams,

When I see the moon it is a reminder of peace and happiness.

The moon was made for beauty and making the world serene.

I am most happy at the fall of the harsh day.

It is because I get to look at my favorite creation of the Holy One.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
