Moms are just like red wine. They may be an acquired taste, but you grow to love them. These two great things that may seem unrelated, but are actually very similar.
You don't like them too much at the beginning. When you first drink red wine, it may not be your favorite. Whether you are thrown off by the temperature or just the taste, many people do not enjoy it the first time they drink it. Moms can sometimes be the same way. When kids are young or in their teen years, they may not get along with their moms. They may think of their mother's as more of monsters than friends.
Luckily, you grow fonder of them with age. As you experience a couple glasses of red wine, most people start to warm up to it. As most kids grow up they realize that they also warm up to their mothers. They realize that most of the time mother does know best and that they are supportive and helpful as you get older. Mothers are much wiser and they are usually the first person you call with questions about laundry or cooking.
Red wine and mothers also get more valuable with age. The older the wine, the better. The same rule applies to moms. The older you both grow, you learn to cherish your time with each other. Most kids move away from home and start visiting less and less. You both learn to make the best of the time you have together
You learn to appreciate them. Red wine can class up any home cooked meal or help you relax after a long day at work. Red wine can become a treat that you enjoy and look forward to. You also learn to appreciate your mother as you get older. You look back at all those times you butted heads and can't help but laugh. You have grown to realize that your mother always wanted what was best for you and she is your biggest cheerleader. You appreciate the help she has given you throughout the years and the generosity she continues to show.
Mothers and red wine are not only similar, but they go great together. Don't forget to thank your mother for all the sacrifices she has made for you. Next time you are with her show your gratitude by popping a bottle of wine and enjoy each other's company.
