Dear Chipotle,
This might be sudden, but I had to write to you—there are so many letters dedicated to Taco Bell that I thought it was only fair to write one to the true king of Mexican fast food.
Where do I even start? We’ve been through so much together. When I first met you as an unsuspecting pre-teen, I had no idea how much you would impact my life—but I knew you were the one from the first bean and cheese burrito. Through all of the tacos and bowls, you have never let me down.
I spend practically every waking moment waiting until I get to see you again—can you blame me? You know exactly how to make me feel better after every gym excursion and weekend outing. I love every dollop of beans, cheese and sour cream that you offer to me, even when the guacamole is an extra $1.80. You think I won’t pay for it? Think again. You deserve to be treated.
I know we’ve had a rough couple of years. Everyone turned against you when E. coli was found in your food. I have to admit that I was pretty worried, too. The peer pressure got a hold of me, and I didn’t visit you for a long time. Then, you weren’t serving carnitas due to a pork shortage. It lasted months, Chipotle. You took away my favorite choice of meat from me. What was I supposed to do?
Even now, people are still trying to tell me that you’re no good, that Moe’s is better and cheaper. But you know what? I’ve never turned my back on you. I’ve stood by you this entire time. Even when you don’t offer me a discount on my meal for playing a dumb phone game, you’re still my first choice. Some may call it “overpriced,” but I call it “worth it.” I overeat all of your delicious food and spend the next hour rethinking all of my life choices every time I visit, but I still know that I’ll be back to you by next week.
I will never stop loving you, Chipotle, even when you don’t put enough food into my bowl. You’ll always have a piece of my heart and stomach, and I cherish every moment I have with you, whether it’s watching our favorite shows together or simply enjoying each other’s company. I love and miss you, and I’ll see you this weekend.
Love,
Your favorite customer, whose order is readily accessible should you choose to send me a free meal.
