If you don't watch New Girl, you are living under a rock. New Girl is a FOX sitcom, that is about a teacher named Jess living in a loft with three very hilarious men. It is by far one of the funniest shows I have ever seen. From the very first episode you fall in love with Jess, and you will want to have quirky qualities just like her. Here are a few reasons why we all love Jess Day!
1. Jess sings, all the time.
Something I love about Jess is that she is super quirky and adorable. She loves to burst out into song at the most random times. She is just the life of the party, and can cheer anyone up on a bad day. She sings no matter where she is, or who is around her.
2. Jess has the best style.
Jess isn't afraid to dress however she wants. She owns polka dot skirts, overalls, and odd shaped glasses. Jess is so confident, she wears what makes her happy, and I think more women should do that. I know I'm afraid to make some fashion choices because they're more out there, but if it makes you happy, who cares!
3. Jess has our BFF goals.
If you watch New Girl, you know Jess and CeCe are your ultimate friendship goals. They are truly adorable. They would do anything for each other! Remember when Jess did CeCe's modeling job for her, because CeCe wasn't feeling that well? Or when CeCe helped Jess over the finish line at the race they ran together? That's true love.
4. Jess messes up too.
Jess is a regular person. She makes mistakes, like a lot of mistakes. I love watching New Girl because it reminds me that no one is perfect, and we all mess up. Some mess ups are a lot bigger than others though, but no matter what, you can get through it. Jess always manages to get over her mistakes, and learn from them. I think we can all learn from that.
5. Jess has dating problems.
The show starts when Jess figures out her boyfriend for six years cheated on her. Throughout the seasons Jess has multiple relationships, and some workout better than others. Jess tries really hard to make relationships work, and she cares about the people she dates. I think it is something everyone who watches the show loves about her. She tries so hard to make relationships work, and even when they don't, she manages to bounce back.
6. Jess uses food therapy.
Let's be honest, we all use food therapy at some point in our life. Especially when we are sad or angry. I really like that Jess owns the fact that she eats ice cream when she's sad, or any other kind of junk food. It makes her even more relatable.
7. Jess is a kid at heart.
Jess rocks polka dots, and loves to play kids games like hot lava. She loves to blow bubbles, and to do lots of crafts. She has grown up, but still really enjoys the simple things about life.
8. Jess has awesome guy friends.
Jess lives in a loft with three guys. They all look out for each other, whether it's cleaning up each other's messes, or if they help each other with relationships. The guys help Jess with relationships, and Jess helps the guys with their women problems. They all look out for each other, and it is really cute!
9. Jess is more awkward than you.
When Jess is in certain situations, she panics just like we do. She doesn't really understand how to date, and she doesn't understand how to talk to guys. She isn't the best at staying on topic, and she dances when she doesn't know what to say. Jess is the epitome of awkward, and it's great.
10. Jess is truly kind.
Jess cares so much about everyone. She gives everyone the benefit of the doubt. It is so hard for Jess to be mean. She is great to her students, even when they aren't the nicest to her. She tries to make the guys happy in the loft, and she does whatever she can to make others laugh. Jess is a truly sweet person, and I think everyone should strive to be as caring as she is.
Jess is one of my favorite characters ever. I think a lot of people can relate to her, and fans really root for her to do well. I encourage everyone to watch New Girl, because it is just a great show to watch when you need a good laugh. I love coming home at the end of the day and watching New Girl to unwind.
