What is Love?

I mean it's a small world lengthwise, but it has such a heavy meaning attached to it. What is the definition of love?

The word is everywhere. In movies, TV shows, books, songs, but what does it actually mean? And does is actually have one true meaning?

Mirriam-Webster dictionary defines love as a feeling of strong affection for a person. I think it's interesting that the dictionary used the word feeling in their definition of love.

But what are feelings?

Feelings are fleeting, they are not constant, and are not forever. Feelings change, so if love was a feeling then how come people are still in love after years and years and years together? I mean life can get TOUGH, and people are constantly changing, so how did they stay together for so long?

Love cannot be something as small as a feeling. Love can bring crowds together, create genuine happiness, move mountains, and change lives.

1 Peter 4:8 says Above all, love each other DEEPLY because love covers a multitude of sins.

Love is a deep encounter that will connect you with someone for the rest of your life..... well if you choose to let that happen.

Love is a Choice

People stay in love with each other for their entire lives because they CHOOSE to love each other daily. They wake up every morning and pursue, cherish, and confide in one another. Of course, that can all end, but only if they choose to let that happen.

People want to be loved, It's one of our core needs. There is a place where you can have forever unconditional love, and that is with Christ. He CHOOSES us every day no matter what we do, where we are, or what we are going through. If God can love EVERYONE that deeply then love can't be something as small as a feeling.

You can FEEL love of course

I mean of course you can have the feeling of love, and that is great and necessary to survive in this world, but if you are looking for long lasting love to be a feeling then you are going to live in disappointment.

I hope you find love, and I hope you never give up on it because if you have found that unconditional love I hope you hold on to it and never let it go.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. I have never been so thankful to know you.
