I Love Being Colorblind

No, I'm not actually colorblind.

I Love Being Colorblind
Personal

I am not colorblind, but I am in one point of view. Our generation is the most hated generation because we are "always on our cell phones" and we "don't respect our elders" enough.

Which is not the case. Our generation is changing the world and I love it.

My four best friends are all African-American and I would have absolutely no clue what I would ever do without them.

Back in the day, before I was even thought of, there were strikes and riots with Caucasian males beating and hurting African-American males. If that happened today, I would not even know how to respond to such disrespect and disgrace because our generation is the one that is starting to change the world by having interracial dating and friendships.

If it wasn't for Martin Luther King, Jr. my family would not be whole again and I would not have many friends because he helped seek world peace with different races becoming as one.

Our generation looks beyond skin tone because the only thing that should be separated by color is laundry.

I am so glad that I did not live back in that time where you could not speak to someone without being hurt because I simply would not be able to handle it. Being able to give my friends a friendship they deserve is by far the greatest feeling that I have ever had.

Yes, there is racism today, unfortunately. I just do not understand why! Like what is the point? Why are you stuck in the 1950's? Why does skin color matter? What if a person of a different race was the person who could cure cancer, but s/he is being put down because of their color pigment? That is why we all should seek world peace.

Unfortunately, there are still gangs of both races. They were not raised properly and that is why they are in gangs. Not because of their race.

I am so tired of hearing "I wonder what her or his parents think about them dating?" Why does it matter to their parents if they are both happy?

What ever happened to people letting others become happy with themselves? People should push other individuals to become happy with their lives. If someone is happy with the person that loves them back then there should not be a problem with the color of their skin.

I live in a world that is so caught up with hashtags of which lives matter, but no one realizes that all lives matter. When someone passes away it does not only hurt that race, it hurts other races as well.

I love everyone with all of my heart, no matter what their skin color is.

I am colorblind in a black and white world.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
