We all know South Bend isn't the ideal place to be in the cold, bitter months of December through March. However, Saint Mary's campus has its perks.
1. We get free hot chocolate and coffee in the library.
Yeah the coffee is pretty watery, and sometimes they run out, but if you mix the coffee and the hot chocolate together, it makes a great mocha that warms you up on your way to class.
2. Cuddling
Nothing is better than sitting in my best Belle's bed on a cold night to watch a movie and to keep each other warm.
3. The Tunnel
True story. I can go days at a time inside, away from the cold, because I am lucky enough to live in the dorm Le Mans. I get a tunnel, and I have full access to the student center without having to put a foot out into the two degree air.
4. Our campus is so small.
Winter really has nothing on you when your classes are less than a three minute walk from your dorm. Sometimes I don't even worry about my coat when it's 15 degrees out. Other, larger, college campuses require long, freezing walks to class. Thank you Saint Mary's for your tininess.
5. It is beautiful!
Straight gorgeous. Our bell tower glows in the snow and our lake and buildings always are pretty, but when there is a blanket of white over them, it is something magical.
