Love As Told From A Hopeless Romantic

The greatest happiness in life is knowing we are loved

Love is complicated, love is hard, and love is worth it. When I say this I am not only talking strictly about your partner relationships. I am talking about all the relationships that you have in your life. Friends, family, co-workers, role-models, and then yes, of course, your significant other. All of the people that you care so deeply about.

I am a hopeless romantic, and truly just love seeing how impactful love can be. How spreading that extra hand for someone you care about and seeing their bright and big smile on their face is what makes it worth it. You will go through tons of relationships throughout your lives, and I've learned and foreseen that it isn't peoples' jobs, financial standings, or daily life things that keep people alive and happy. It is the power of human connections and relationships that keep people going and alive.

It is important and okay to know the difference between loving someone, being in love with someone, or being in lust. Being in love with someone is a unique feeling that no one can describe but you. It is wanting a part of that person you are seeing, and you want to own that. You want to do everything you can to see them happy, and that they aren't holding you back, that they are making YOU a better person. Being in love requires patience, and it feeds every emotion within your body in order to never lose this person. It is like your heart has been filled completely and consumed by this one person. It is such a powerful tool. You do everything you can in order to prove that you never want to lose them. You dream about your future and see them with you 30 years from now. It's an indescribable, unexplainable, and desired feel. You want to fight life with them right by your side.

Loving someone means needing this person in a different way. It means having to acquire this person is not necessarily ownership, but as a close soul that you want the best for. Loving someone means you want the best for this individual and a dating relationship maybe would never work for you two. Loving someone means your emotions settle and sometimes can calm you down or ease you when you talk to this person. You feel whole and feel like you can just step outside your normal everyday life and talk to this someone, and they will listen and not judge you. You might not realize it now, but later in life, you might realize this person just gets you and has always been your rock and number one. And could regret not doing more with this person, because of all they have done for you and you have done for them.

Lastly, if you are in lust, then you are solely focused on that persons' physical attraction and features. All your relationship revolves around is sexual experiences. Being in lust, means there is very minimal romance or intimacy involved. When being in lust, you might not realize it, but you might sometimes feel insecure and may have trouble opening up to this person about your problems, or personal life. You sometimes feel guarded and sometimes do not feel fully committed or trust easily with this person. Lust is only a part of love, and for a little while it can survive on its' own, but not for long.

It's the biggest pity the heart. Your body and mind knows what is good, but your heart is just so beyond powerful that it makes you hang on and fight. It makes you valuable and shows your worth to the world. It makes you cry on your worst days and more importantly smile on your best days. The heart makes life that much more special. So take a look at your relationships, see what you want and what you need. Love to love and in all the forms it entails.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
