You May Not Believe Me, But I Love You

To my boyfriend,

I love you. You are my world and my rock. You are my best friend.

Though you may not believe me when I say this, I love you. Though we may have not been together for a long time, I still know how I feel about you.

You are such an amazing gentleman; from day one I knew that I was going to start liking you a lot. We talked for a while before we started hanging out, which to me was fine because while talking to you I felt like I already knew who you were and that we had known each other for a while before the first night that we had meet. I remember and even till this day it happens, I get all excited and jittery on the inside when I see your name pop up on my phone, its like I am a 13 year old again.

I remember the second time that we had hung out, we were walking towards your truck and at the time I was confused because you walked to the passenger side. But then you opened the door for me, watched me sit down, and smiled at me, making sure I was in safely and gently shutting the door. During this exact moment I had felt so many different emotions, my heart was beating fast, I had butterflies in my stomach, and was just so surprised at the fact that people still do this. Your Southern values really showed through on that second day. You truly are a keeper, and I hope that there are others like you for other women, because it’s a blessing to have you in my life. From that moment on, I knew that you were such an amazing guy and that I was going to fall in love with you. Even now that we have been dating for a little while, I love that you still open the passenger door, wait for me to sit, and still give me that same smile you did when we first starting hanging out.

Getting to know each other was also such an amazing experience to share with you. Learning about you and your past life was truly amazing. I have always been so impressed with everything that you do. From your every morning routine to the way that you look and talk to me, I truly am in love. Everything that you do to be yourself, I love. You are a very strong, independent person, and I hope that you will help me grow into a mature and independent individual like yourself. The fact that you have started your career but are still in school is amazing. I am so proud that I am able to call you my boyfriend.

During the next year, since I will not be in Fort Collins much longer, I know that you will be on my mind every single day. This move away from you is something I am really starting to regret. Like I always say, in a perfect world, I would stay here and start my new chapter with you, because that is all that I want to do.

I know that this all sounds crazy, since we have not been together for long, but when you feel the way I do, you just know that it is right. What I am trying to say here is that I love you. You may not believe me when I say it, but it's true. I believe that we were meant to meet each other. Though the way we met might not be how most people do, but it sure will be a great story to tell our future friends and family members.

If anyone puts you down, hurts you, or tells you that you are not good enough. Don’t listen to them; because I believe in you, and I know that you can do anything that you set your mind to. You are good enough, strong enough, smart enough, and brave enough. Just remember to never give up on who you are, because you mean the world to me.

-- Your loving girlfriend

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
