To all the soft-spoken people out there:
Everyone has a reason to be quiet. Maybe you just don't have anything to say, or you're too scared of people thinking you're too weird. I will admit that I've gotten frustrated with some of you in the past, but this year, I've really started to understand the logic behind being a wallflower.
#1- I feel really bad for you guys when you make a joke in class, but you say it so quietly that no one hears you. I hear everything in class, and I automatically get secondhand embarrassment whenever one of you are ignored. I bet it's worse for you. And for that, I apologize. I'm not going to say "speak up", because you've probably heard that a million times before.
#2- I appreciate you for your loud moments. A lot of people think that people of little words can't get up on a stage and dance, or sing, but a lot of those people can easily get up and sing in front of a crowd. You guys are more under the 'not shy, but not much to say' group. Let's just say that you really surprise everyone when you turn out to not be shy at all. *wow*
#3- Every soft-spoken person has a time where they become a blabbermouth. And I love talking to my softspoken friends outside of school because that's when they really start chatting. I remember sitting across from my friend in an Arby's (don't ask why), and just think "he's said so much in the past 5 minutes omg". It's just really great to get a softspoken person one-on-one because they just really come out of their shell and speak their mind.
#4- Don't listen to loud people who tell you that you need to talk more. You talk however much you want to because, to be honest with you,no one cares. No one cares how much you talk! Just express yourself in a way that you feel comfortable in, in any number of words.
Sincerely,
Someone who speaks a billion words a day
