Today, when you walk in somewhere, your outfit speaks before you do. While having a good personal style is not only important for our self-expression, it is also important when it comes to going to interviews, networking, and going to your jobs. The way you dress can say a lot about the person you are, so it is always important to try to look your best.
As the saying goes, dress well, test well.
In high school, one of my friends made that his motto for exams. He dressed in a suit for all his final exams and got A's on every single one. Now, dressing well and being able to buy the clothes are different. I totally understand that. Being in college we are lucky if we can spare money for a dinner out much less a business suit.
Now you might be thinking, how I can dress well at a moderate price?
Well, thanks to Jeff Bezos. there's Amazon. I literally cannot tell you how many of my favorite workplace or even casual clothing pieces I have gotten from there. The best part is if you go hunting on Amazon you can find things for $30 or less.
Even better than that, there are some of my favorite online stores that have amazing sales if you watch. Stores like Nasty Gal, Missguided, Fashion Nova, Zara, or Asos all tend to have great sales if you just pay attention. Keeping alerts on these websites drastically improves their prices. One day a top can be $80, then with a 60% or 50% off, it drops to $40. Not only can these help you look more professional, they are trendy. Whenever I wear things from these places I always get stopped with, "OMG I love that where did you get it?" My favorite part is when I say the price and their jaw drops.
Another great tip is 'Unidays'. Most online retailers will give students discounts and the way of verifying that is through Unidays. You just sign up using your student email and you instantly get discounts off of things like Nasty Gal, Apple Music, and tons more.
Looking good doesn't have to come with a hefty price tag.
It's also not only about looking good, it's about feeling good as well. No matter what you wear nothing looks as good as confidence.
