What I'm Looking Forward To As I Go Back To 'Cuse

It's been a full month since i've left my home away from home, and I got to say...homesickness is real. Throughout my first semester at Syracuse University, I really found the 315 to become my home. I love it there more than I can put into words. Even with its numerous hills and bone-chilling weather, I wouldn't want to go to school anywhere else. I cannot wait to return, and here's a list of the things I'm looking forward to as I head back to campus!

1. Seeing my friends

This one comes at the top of my list. I've made so many amazing friends at 'cuse and I CANNOT wait to be reunited with them all!

2. Being back on the most beautiful campus in the country

Sorry to all the other colleges in the U.S. but SU takes the cake for having the most beautiful campus like...ever. I am so excited to be back and see all the gorgeous buildings like the Hall of Languages, Crouse, Newhouse, Hendricks Chapel, and so many more.

3. New classes

I'm looking forward to having a brand new schedule filled with classes that are actually interesting to me! (I do have an 8am but let's just forget about that for the time being)

4. Sorority Recruitment

Coming into college, I knew that i definitely wanted to rush a sorority. I've heard only wonderful things from upper classmen and I cannot wait to make great experiences of my own.

5. Getting more involved

Coming into 'cuse I knew that I wanted to get really involved in campus clubs and activities and I am really looking forward to the opportunities that second semester will bring in terms of getting involved!

6. Bleu Monkey and Varsitys

My friends and I have started a tradition where every Monday night we try to eat off campus and these are the places we tent to gravitate to. I've missed our weekly outings so much and I am so excited to start them up again! (Sorry Graham Dining hall I definitely do not miss you...)

7. Sleeping in my dorm

As odd as it sounds, I LOVE my dorm room. It was the first bedroom of mine where I was able to decorate it from scratch and it truly feels like home to me. I cannot wait to be back.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
