Snack: Someone who looks good at the moment; saying "you look good as hell"

Being a girl is hard. We deal with periods, guys, and the stigma of always having to look good. This last one can be especially hard if you, like myself, are lazy. You don't want to wake up two hours before you need to so you can look good. Your eyebrows aren't always on fleek, and you really really do not understand how to contour your face.

And not to put those girls down who are like that but...you really don't care. Except when you do. So here I am, presenting you with my tips on looking like a snack...when you're lazy as heck.

1. Spending money on expensive makeup is not worth it.

For the newbie to the makeup world, or if you are lazy, you should understand that you don't need to spend half a paycheck at Sephora on makeup. No, not worth it unless there is something you really want.

Me? I have a few Naked Palettes and the Sweet Peach palette. I also have an Urban Decay mascara (couldn't tell you the name) and a nice moisturizer.

Drugstore makeup can be just as good people

2. Have some sort of skincare routine.

Alright, so I'm not big into skincare. But I do know the benefits of a good face wash.

I have three: one that exfoliates my face (I use it before I PMS so I don't break out), a Clean and Clear one that is good for breakouts, and a normal, everyday green tea soap.

The point is, the cleaner and fresher your face looks, the easier it is to make yourself look presentable.

3. Watch lots of YouTube.

This is a skill I brought back from my middle school days. YouTube is where I learned to use a curling wand, and how to braid my hair.

The more videos you watch, even without practicing the skill in general, the more you'll absorb. You'll be surprised what you remember when your in the middle of curling hair..."Maybe I shouldn't do this with wet hair!"

4. Practice. At night.

Ah, the feeling of your warm and comfy bed. After the buildup of a hard's day work, you are so ready for sleep. Expect for when you can't.

This is the perfect time to practice that new hair trick or makeup hack. Besides, who is really going to judge you if you can't cut a crease at 3 am? If your cat does, she's a jerk. Seriously, I practiced braiding my hair so many times at night until I could do it in my sleep.

This poses the benefit of nobody seeing your epic fails and the practice time you need so you can get the look mastered so you can do it in the morning. (I can braid my hair in less than two minutes!)

5. Have confidence.

Giphy

The most important tip I can give is to be confident. Really, it doesn't matter how your hair looks, if you used overpriced makeup, or if that one guy from Tinder thinks you look hot.

It matters how you feel about yourself. If you feel good about yourself on the inside, your beauty will shine. As cliche as that sounds, it's the best advice I've ever been given.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
