You can pick your friends but you certainly can’t pick your family.

Yet if you had the choice, you’d still choose her every time. She’s your shoulder to cry on, she’s your late night Grey’s Anatomy marathon, she’s your built in extra closet, she’s your go to dinner date, she’s your fight and make up 10 minutes later- she’s your best friend. You may not like her all the time, but admit it, you love her. There’s an unbreakable bond between sisters, that even hundreds of miles can’t break. Whether it be high school or college, here are 10 things that happen when you go to a school in a different state than your sister…

As told by your favorite sisters, the Kardashians.

1. Upon introducing yourself to people, you can't help but bring up the fact you have a sister, and therefore go on introducing her as well. I mean what would you be without her?

2. You feel the need to tell her every detail of your day, interactions, and activities- even if it's as simple as what you ate for breakfast.

3. She's still your go to for any type of advice, because you know she's one of the only one's who'll give it to you straight. Girl drama, boy drama, what to wear to your date party- you can always count on her to tell you that yes, in fact, those jeans do make you look fat.

4. Speaking of girl drama, you vent to her about all the girls you have problems with and vice versa. You can't help but feel deep hatred for anyone who's possibly been mean to your sister- that's your job not theirs, you're the only one with the ability to pick on her (just occasionally). Her enemies are your enemies.

5. You find yourself subconsciously bringing up her name in almost every conversation. "Oh my god, my sister does that too!", "My sister told me this one story...", "That sounds just like my sister". Tell your friends to get used it.

6. You find yourself talking about an inside joke that you have with your sister and your friends don't find it the least bit comical. Maybe it was one those "had to be there" things, but you and your sister will always find it hilarious.

7. As previously mentioned, having a sister means you automatically have two closets. But be careful posting an Instagram in her cute new blouse that you snagged and brought to college with you, wouldn't want a World War III to break out.

8. But when you see her sporting all of your missing clothing items, your brought back to that same feeling you got when your parents told you Santa wasn't real- betrayed and utterly enraged.

9. The littlest things make you miss her. One moment you're out, feeling bad and boujee, and the next thing you know your mascara is streaming down your face while snot smears your Kylie lip. Emotions man, they get the best of ya.

10. Being apart truly makes you appreciate how lucky you are to have your sister in your life.

To my sister and best friend, I love you.

Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
