A Letter To My Long Distance Friends

Distance makes the heart grow fonder, even with friendships.

Dear Long Distance Friends,

First off, let me start with saying how a day doesn't go by where I don't miss you. We've been through it all together from relationships, family problems to late nights laughing till our stomaches hurt. Growing up means leaving our comfort zones, and exploring parts of our life without each other. Just because meeting new people and going on adventures without each other, doesn't mean we won't always find our way back to one another.

Whether we talk everyday, or only occasionally, I always hope you're having a good day and life isn't stressing you out too much. We may be miles apart while you do your thing and I do mine, you will always be one of the most important people in my life. Every time something exciting or silly happens, the first people I think to tell are you guys. We went through such awkward and crazy times together that whatever I have to tell you guys, usually doesn't surprise you. I'd like to thank you guys for not judging my stories, whether it be the craziest thing you heard that week, or the most pointless thing you heard that week.

We're all making new friends that will be our friends for life, with that comes along with some distance because we see them everyday instead of each other. Just because we don't see each other everyday doesn't mean our friendship has weakened. I personally think it makes us stronger. We start following each other's new friends on social media and asking questions about them because we want to be friends with them as well.

You're the people who my family knows and loves, they never stop asking questions about how you guys are doing. The friendship we have is more like family than anything. When it's time to come home, I'll always be counting down the days till we get to run into each other's arms, almost knocking each other out every time. Then we're back in each other's homes laughing and telling our stories we've been dying to tell in person. Those are my absolute favorite moments, no matter the distance nothing has changed.

Growing up will never mean growing apart for us. I couldn't be more thankful that I found my people so early in life, while never having to worry about losing you. Never forget that if you're having a bad day or need someone to talk to, I'm always just a text, call or facetime away. Watching you fall in love with your school, sorority, job, or even a new boy brings me so much happiness because all I want is the best for you, even if that means I'm not there to see it. I'll be counting down the days till we get to stuff our face with food and dance till the morning, see you soon BFF!

Love,

Your Long Distance Friend

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
