From Vine star to successful actor and Youtuber, Logan Paul is making his dreams a reality. Born and raised in Westlake, Ohio, Paul was a star athlete at his local high school, competing as a wrestler and the starting running back/linebacker on the football team. However, aside from his love for sports, he really had a strong passion for comedy. Paul and his younger brother would often make YouTube videos together, but it was not until the creation of the six-second video sharing app called Vine, that Paul started his rise to fame.

While he was a freshman in college at Ohio University, Paul produced countless videos on the app. As the year moved on, he was able to gain over 3 million followers on Vine, which prompted his decision to drop out of college, and move to Los Angeles. Even though the Vine app was shut down on Jan. 17 2017, Paul had already accumulated a mass following, which led to many other opportunities for him like appearing in “Law & Order: Special Victims Unit,” and starring in the Youtube Red film titled, “The Thinning.”

Now, Paul is one of the biggest YouTubers to date, with over 12 million subscribers and a net worth of around $6 million. Paul posts a YouTube video every day, which he calls “Logan Paul Vlogs,” allowing his fans to be a part of his everyday life. He started releasing vlogs Sept. 12, 2016, and he has released a video every day since then. By releasing these vlogs every day, Paul’s fans get to experience his successes first hand, but also his hardships.

For example, in one vlog, Paul might be shooting a music video, but in another vlog, he might be looking for a new place to live (he is getting evicted from his apartment). This sense of realness in his videos has attracted many fans, and this is one of the reasons that he is so popular today. Paul’s YouTube channel is the fastest channel to reach 10 million subscribers in history, and the number keeps on growing. Along with his Youtube channel, Paul is also working on music, collaborating with artists like the Los Angeles based boyband called “Why Don’t We,” and he has worked with many different celebrities including Dwayne Johnson (The Rock), Desiigner, and Kevin Hart.

Not only has Paul created a mass following for himself, he has also developed a very successful clothing line called Maverick Apparel. Maverick Apparel is based off of Paul’s signature belief and motto that everyone should be a Maverick. Being a Maverick means that you should create your own path and no matter what anyone says, follow your dreams. This is what he preaches in almost all of his videos, and when his fans are shown in these videos, most of them will have on shirts that have the Maverick symbol, or something that has the word Logangster written on it (Logangster is what Paul calls his fans).

Paul has come a long way from making six-second videos, and his popularity is still growing. Recently, Paul was a guest on the Jimmy Kimmel show, and season two of his popular show titled “Logan Paul VS,” is out now.

He is also starring in the remake of the 1983 classic movie “Valley Girl,” alongside other well-known actors such as Chloe Bennet and Peyton List. “Valley Girl” is set to release in 2018.

Paul continues to work hard to release daily content for his fans, and it will be interesting to see his career develop in the future.

Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
