Living Through the Gray Areas of Life

I'm not trying to be a Debbie downer, but let's face it, folks, life can sometimes feel like a drag. It seems to get in the way of what we really want, what our dreams are, and the desires of our hearts. Life likes to make things difficult sometimes or make it feel as if everything is a monotonous cycle of blah.

However, life also likes to throw surprises your way. Just when you think you're going to be stuck forever in the cycle of blah, something will hit you and explode in an array of color. Whether it be a career opportunity, a sparking relationship, or just having that light bulb moment that projects you in the right direction, these moments seem to be worth living in the gray area.

Now when referring to "what life does," I'm not really talking about life itself, I'm actually referring to God. He knows what's going to happen even before it happens. He knows the desires of our hearts, and he has his best interest for each one of our lives. So when you feel like you're living in the gray area of life, don't hate on it. Don't hate God for not doing something good. Becuase usually those gray areas are there to teach you in order for something greater.

God doesn't give you anything you can't handle. He wants us to succeed and prevail in all that we do. Therefore, we gotta go through some tough situations and trials to make it out on the other side. And we gotta accept what God places in our lives to teach us even if it is boring or difficult.

So if you feel stuck in the gray area, that life isn't going anywhere, take a moment to thank God for preparing you for greatness. He's preparing you for an explosion of color. And you'll know when the color explodes. The gray seems to dissipate behind all the vibrancy, and you will be welcoming arms open to what God is sending your way... It's good stuff.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
