There are so many reasons to love living in the mountains. There are so many simple aspects to appreciate. Here are just a few.

While living in the desert is great and all, there are absolutely no trees. The closest thing there is to trees, is cacti. Living in the mountains, there are so many trees and forests. You can see trees for miles, as far as the eye can see. Trees are something that can easily be taken for granted. They can be so beautiful in the fall when the leaves are changing, or in the spring when they are blooming. Trees are a simple aspect of nature that you learn to appreciate a little more once you start to be deprived of them.

2. The Beautiful Scenery

Living in the mountains, there are so many beautiful views of nature all around you. The mountains are beautiful to look at, especially when the sun rises and sets behind them. There are so many beautiful plants all around. There are different flowers that bloom during different seasons and they are all beautiful. No matter what season you are in, there is always beautiful nature around you.

3. Hiking Trails

If you are someone who loves the outdoors, then living in the mountains is the place for you. There is so much nature to explore. This includes hiking trails, biking trails, camping sites, etc. There are so many opportunities to participate in outdoor activities when you live up in the mountains. There are opportunities to bike the mountains or hike them, even camp out on them. Spend some time in the wilderness and exploring the outdoors and the world we live in.

4. Wildlife

Living in the mountains, you get to see more wildlife than usual. There are mountain lions, bobcats, fox, and even bears. There are also many different kinds of birds, hawks and ravens, and many other big birds. There are also a lot of elk and deer. You may even run into javelina from time to time.

5, National Parks

In the mountains you can also most likely find a few national parks. Since you are in the mountains, there are most likely, a number of different canyons to explore and that are beautiful pieces of nature that you may have not even known existed. National parks can be very fun to find, especially if you like finding new things and exploring the outdoors. There are more things to explore than you think.

Do not take nature for granted. The world is God's beautiful creation, and there is so much of it to appreciate when you live in the mountains. Living in the mountains gives you a greater opportunity to explore the outdoors than if you were to live in a city. Appreciate the beauty you live in and are surrounded by daily because once you leave you will miss it.

I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating.
