In 1971 in Seattle Washington a small coffeehouse opened up and has now expanded into one of the most known corporations in the world— Starbucks. The company focused the production of their coffee on the values of their customers and community. Now, you can find a store in almost any city. As a barista myself, I believe in this company and their values; here are my top ten customized drinks for anyone– ranging from coffee to tea to frappuccinos. Maybe next time you go into a Starbucks, you can try one of these nine drink options!

For my coffee lovers:

I’m right there with you when it comes to needing a caffeine fix.

Starbucks Double Shot

If you need to wake up and wake up fast this is the drink for you! Yes, this does come in the can but when you order it fresh it is ten times better. Do not forget to add in whatever syrup you like as well. Normally, I just get regular classic but if you’re a vanilla, hazelnut, caramel, or toffee nut fanatic ask for those syrups instead. Also, ask for some half and half in there as well and there you have it, your own customized Starbucks Double Shot.

Caramel Macchiato

This is a staple on the menu, some enjoy it, but it's too strong for some others. When you order it, get one less shot and ask for an extra pump of vanilla, extra caramel drizzle, or both. If you do not like the way the espresso and milk are separated ask for it upside down. This drink will send your taste buds to heaven and back.

Cold Brew Iced Coffee

Now if you cannot deal with the taste of espresso but still are in need of that kick of caffeine Cold Brew is what I recommend. You can customize it with any syrups you would like but I think it tastes best with White Chocolate Mocha Sauce because of the intensity of the coffee. Do not forget to ask for cream as well, and there you have it. An enjoyable drink without the taste of espresso.

Iced Coffee

When you order an iced coffee, you can pretty much customize it any way you want. However, my personal favorite is for the average person who likes sweet coffee. Go ahead and order an iced coffee but ask for half White Chocolate Mocha Sauce and Raspberry syrup with cream. This will rock your world!

For my tea drinkers:

Strawberry Acai Refresher

This drink is that pick me up you need on a hot day. So how could you customize something that is already great? Ask to add peach or mango syrup depending on your preference. It will taste like a tropical oasis and will cool you down on these hot summer days coming up.

Very Berry Hibiscus Refresher

If you have tried this drink and it doesn't seem sweet enough for you this customization will change your perspective. Ask for passion tea instead of the water it’s usually made with and get it sweetened with classic syrup. No worries, this drink does come in a Treinta!

Black Tea

Now for my adventurous drinkers out there, this one will definitely raise eyebrows until you try it. Go ahead and order a black tea but ask for cream instead of water and get it sweetened with two extra pumps of classic syrup. Before you judge the drink (because I know you’re thinking, “Milk in tea? No way!") Just take a sip!

For my Frap people:

Vanilla Bean/Cafe Vanilla

The only difference between the two is that the Cafe Vanilla does have coffee in it but the recipe works for both. Order either one, and ask for Hazelnut inside of it while asking for Frap chips to be blended in. It tastes like an Oreo. Now, if the Frap chips are not your thing, just ask for the Hazelnut and your frappuccino will taste like Birthday Cake.

Fruity Vanilla Bean

Yes, there can be fruit blended in your Vanilla Bean! I know, who would have thought the Vanilla Bean could get better. Whether you like bananas or blueberries, either one can be blended into your frappuccino for a fruitier take on the Vanilla Bean. It’s definitely a great way to add some fruit to your drink!

Let me know what drink you tried and continue to live adventurously!

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
