If life were a Hallmark movie
The girl would get the guy,
We'd all get our happy endings,
And life would be pretty fly.
Life would get tough,
As life tends to do
But it would better
And eventually, we'd get a clue.
There would be struggles
And unfortunate events
But we'd come out on the other side
And see what it all meant.
Of course there would be a romance,
Because that's what Hallmark does
There might even be a scandal
Where we see what is, what could've been, or what was.
We might get a Christmas wish
Or an unsuspecting surprise
We might hear of a miracle
Or see one with our very eyes.
A loved one would come home
To see us all together
But unfortunately,
Hallmark moments don't last forever.
Once the movie ends,
Where would we be?
Happy, I suppose.
But might we also be lonely?
Our loved ones would leave
We'd be all alone.
We'd call them and text them
And wish they'd come home.
The magic goes away
And life moves on
Our boring lives take shape again
And we wonder why the magic has gone.
It's because life wasn't mean to be a Hallmark movie,
It's sad but true.
We each make our own Hallmark moments.
Everyone -- including me and you.
So we make our own memories,
Full of magic and love.
We create the best days of our lives
With a little help from above.
We remember that God has everything
All set out in His perfect plan.
Yeah, the waiting part sucks.
But we can make it -- I know we can!
So whenever you wish
That your life was a movie made by Hallmark,
Just remember that God wrote your story,
And yours has the perfect story arc.
