In this life, there's a limited amount of time to stop and appreciate it. There's only so many chances to stop to smell the roses, the coffee, get a wake-up call or to go after that career you want to pursue. Going about a life and not appreciating every moment of it, ups or downs is not the right way to live. There aren't standards for living (aside from needing to pay your taxes each year), but there need to be things that people keep in mind at all given times of the day.
From personal experience, I can proudly say I've accomplished a lot in my life; whether that be mental, emotional, academic or physical challenges, there is so much for me to appreciate about myself. Though it can be difficult for each passing day to grow your self-confidence, it eventually will arrive; and when it does, it'll arrive at just the right time.
Here are some things to always remember when living life each day.
1. Let that sh*t go!

If you get into an argument with your parents, significant other or best friend, take some time to cool down. Just make sure to make things right in the end. There's no reason to hold a grudge for even a day or two. Let go of what pushed you away from them, apologize and move on. Life is too short to lose those that you care for in such a quick and untimely manner.
2. Do what you want.

Is there something you're thinking of doing? Is it whether or not you should get that tattoo, text that guy, get that short haircut, or go out on a Saturday night? If anything tosses and turns in your head, just go after it. It'll be one of those things that you'll reconsider later if you don't do it. Something, like buying shoes that you want or even trying on clothes you know you'd never buy, but just do it for fun. Live a little. Wouldn't you rather look back and say you did that rather than live on and wonder what could have been? Taking chances has its pros and cons, but you'll reflect on it later with a smile.
3. Let no one hold you back.

Growing older can make you wiser. When it comes to making decisions for yourself, go with your gut. If there's ever a second guess about a decision, go with the first choice. It's like changing an answer on an exam; later, you'll go back and change the answer again because you think the first answer is the right answer. That could be the difference between going to college thousands of miles away from home, and going to a community college 10 minutes away from your parent's house. When there's reason for making the decision that you're making, don't let anyone stop you or hinder you from getting there. You've got to trust yourself and what you want. It's your life, not anyone else's, no matter how important of a person that they are to you.
You may be thinking: why be so daring and extraordinary when my parents are so strict? Why take the chance when I could be making a big mistake and will be sorry for it later? Why do these things if I know I'll have regrets? Here's your answer: wouldn't you rather look back on your years being thankful for the experiences rather than look back and wonder what could have happened instead? Live your life to the fullest that you can. Today could be your last day on Earth; what will be the last thing that you do or say?
The choice is yours.
