Life Is Good

Find the good.

Life Is Good

Life is good. No matter what is happening, life is good.

Life is driving at night with the windows down, blaring country music. Realizing all of your overwhelming emotions as the humid air curls through the car. Understanding that you are so much in love.

Life is sitting with your best friend watching "The Bachelorette", your friend almost falling asleep. Realizing that all of these boys are crazy and you only like three. There should be more than three that you like. They're all too drunk. You don't like them drunk. Life is trying to watch "The Bachelorette" while writing your article.

Life is staying in bed until the late morning. Driving in your pajamas with no shoes on to the Dunkin Donuts drive-thru for coffee. Jamming to the "Hamilton" musical. Trying to stay quiet because it's most likely nap time in the neighborhood. Going back to bed to call your boyfriend. Drink your coffee. Doze off for awhile more.

Life is smiling in blurry Instagram pictures. Trying to not worry too much about how you look. Just trying to be happy on social media. Wanting to laugh, and enjoy that on Facebook.

Life is walking through Target. Finding new holiday themed window gels. Grabbing them for your apartment. Finding a new nail polish. A new lip gloss. A $1 notepad that you must have.

Life is not knowing enough words to explain all the good things. The tiny moments that you experience throughout the day. All of the smiles and laughs. All the good Netflix and food and friends.

Life is so good. Life is so much. Find the good. Stay in the good.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
