The story of the life of a household dog

Life Through the Eyes of Loki: Part One
Waggle Productions

I cannot pinpoint the exact moment I was born, nor do I remember anything before I was taken into my new home with my family. From what I have heard them say to other people, I was put on sale by the owner of my mother. They just so happened to pass the house on their way back from shopping. They had wanted a puppy for so long and now, finally, this was their opportunity. I only had a couple months of being born, and since then, it has been one happy, exciting and loving year for me (if you want to get literal, then it’s seven years).

I have three mothers and one father. I know it sounds like a lot, but trust me, it’s not nearly enough! I love all my four of my parents and they love me back. My favorites are Daniel and Caty. Daniel is my father and I love how rough he plays with me! He knows I bite when I play and he loves to cuddle me! Too bad I cannot sleep in his room, otherwise I would spend my entire time with him! Caty is the spoiling one. She gives me food and cuddles me and plays with me, and always defends me when someone says I’m being bad. She always wants me to cuddle her, but I get hot easily so I can’t stay with her for long. Instead, I sleep by her feet. When I’m sick I sleep by her side.

The sad thing is that Daniel is not home until the afternoon, so I can’t play with him until then. Caty is a more difficult case, she is in college and doesn’t come home so often. But it’s okay! Every time she comes home, she always greets me very warmly and carries me and that’s when I give her lots and lots of kisses! She is here for a long time in the summer, but even then, she works so it’s back to waiting patiently. My other two mothers go to school. So with everyone gone, I just wait around the house.

Everyday, I wake up at 5:30AM because I know that’s when Daniel wakes up. If he’s a few minutes late, that’s okay because I scratch his door to make sure he’s up and about. He usually gets up and gets me from wherever I am and takes me to the backyard to do my “business.” After, when he’s about to leave, he takes me back inside and I go back to sleep. Usually, when everyone gets home, they greet me, play with me, feed me and cuddle me! However, all of that changed when my brother and sister came home, but that’s a story for another time.

Note: This was a story told from the perspective of my dog, Loki. I thought it would be fun to depict life through his eyes. I hope you enjoyed it as much as I did!

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
