As a college athlete for two years, I fully understand every struggle that comes with this wonderful privilege; however, no matter how much it sucks sometimes you can't help but love what you do.
Every single night when it’s time for bed.
When Coach says get on the line.
When your best friend on the team is out buying Gatorade before practice and calls to ask what flavor you want.
When you weren’t gonna come back this season because your body physically hurts all the time.
When the incoming freshmen think they are going to take your starting spot.
When it’s time to take the team picture and everyone is posing differently.
When Coach says lifting is at 6 a.m.
When some random on campus tries to start stuff with your teammate.
When you screw up really badly during a game.
When your mom comes to support you.
When you and your best friend on the team are injured together.
When the officials make a horrible call.
When the officials make a horrible call in your favor.
On the weekends, when your non-athlete friends ask if you want to do hang out.
When Coach takes you out and puts a sub in.
When Coach yells at you in front of everyone.
When Coach asks how grades are this semester.
When your senior year is almost over.
