The Life-Changing Sage Ceremony

Today, I experienced a new way to release negative and built up emotions. I am a nanny for this one family that I have been with for over 5 years, and I have always looked up to the mother of the household because she is a holistic believer. She is brilliant about insights, astrology, and people. She is a generous and kind soul who is grounded to the Earth. Due to the fact that I am a Cancer sun sign, this week has been an eye-opener for me.

The Full Moon this previous weekend has brought up a lot of emotions based mainly around relationships. The Full Moon energy that is around from July 9th to July 16th has caused those ruled by the Moon to have some emotions brought to surface that can either be refreshing or confusing. If you are close to facing the challenges and have your mind set on changing the situation, you will be refreshed. If not, you will most likely be confused by these emotions brought up.

Either way, it causes you to reflect on whatever is brought up and causes you to set an intention for the future to be the best you possible. The core issues you behold intensify because the Full Moon energy is present along with both the forces of planetary and lunar forces which help you to achieve the transformations your soul so desires. What is important for day to day this week is to reset, regroup, and face the challenges!

As a Cancer for my sun sign, I have been experiencing a lot of different emotions surrounding relationships whether it has been with friends or family. I have recognized a lot of different thought patterns I have due to growing up with emotional abuse, which has caused me to see the way I view my relationship with my boyfriend. This has been a tremendous step because we both had caused a lot of unnecessary fights that we decided were not healthy for either one of us. But knowing more insight about myself, I can view our relationship in a healthier and happier light.

Furthermore, I have discovered that my relationship with my brother may not be the most healthy one to keep around. Due to a lot of his own issues, there has been a division between us that neither of us seem to be able to work through. I have kept bags under my eyes worrying about relationships with my friends, especially my friends at school, because I want to make sure I am the healthiest I can be and if I need to cut someone out then I need to make sure I am able to do that.

However, this mother today had mentioned the moon energy and how she overcame it using a sage ceremony, and it resignated that it may be exactly what I need to get rid of the negative energy. The sage ceremony opened my eyes to seeing a whole new side of light based upon the energy we hold and exude. The ancient sage ceremony works through praying to our archangels and the sage for it to be able to bless us and get rid of our negativity.

At first, I was a little skeptical. I didn’t think it was possible for a herb to be able to cleanse my energy because it seemed like hippie voodoo stuff that I would like to believe in but may not actually be true… Boy, was I wrong. The first sign I knew it had worked was that I could feel the negativity steaming out of my body as the sage hit certain parts.

When it hit the bottom of my feet, I no longer felt weary. I felt capable of managing any situation, and there was plenty of more body parts that brought up positive emotions and thoughts. Looking in the mirror, I had noticed my face went back to its healthy coloration and the bags under my eyes had lifted as if my face had been transformed completely.

To perform this ceremony, we had to pray to our archangels and spiritual guides when lighting the sage. At first, we didn’t pray to the sage so it didn’t light up like it normally should for a ritual. However, when we thanked the sage, it lit up immediately.

We then proceeded to go outside to be surrounded by nature and she waved the sage throughout my body so that the negative energy could dissipate whilst I was thinking of the negative energy leaving my body. This is not only useful for exuding negative energy, but also for opening up rooms for positive light and energy to enter into.

So often, society tells us that we are not capable of helping ourselves. That we either need a higher power or that we simply are not capable. However, this sage ceremony has opened my eyes to see that maybe the mere fact of exuding negative energy can purely open up ourselves to accepting self-love and love from others.

We often cut ourselves off from things that are good for us because we don’t feel we are deserving or whatever reason, but getting rid of the clutter that is these negative thoughts that prevent us from living our life to the fullest and deepest can be quite refreshing.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.
