Do you even remember what your life was like before social media? There was a time where we weren't glued to our phones. Now it's 2017 and our lives have become absorbed into our phones and social media is partly to blame. I remember starting with one social media account and now I have several. Some may be more active than others on social media but it's more than likely that someone has at least one social media account. There are so many social media sites to choose from such as Facebook, Twitter, Snapchat, Youtube, and more. Why do we have social media accounts? Perhaps we have them to keep in contact with friends and family, for entertainment, or to promote a business. There are various reasons people can provide if they were asked why they made a social media account.

Before social media, we used to just call, text, or email to get in touch with people. We can still do this but people opt to use social media even if they have your number. Why? Because apparently it is easier for some. Do you think we will ever get back to a point where we aren't as absorbed in social media? Maybe or maybe not. We are quite absorbed now so it will be hard to go back to the simpler times. Instead of waiting to get home on the computer to check social media, we can easily access them from our internet browser on our phones or the designated app. This can be dangerous because it is so easy to get distracted from what you're really supposed to be doing with there being easy access. You decide to a take a study break and then you go on your phone and then thirty minutes passes and boom you're still on your phone! That's thirty minutes you cannot get back and what was supposed to be a ten minute study break turns into a thirty minute break.

What I recommend for everyone to do is take a break from social media. Delete your apps. Of course you can take pictures but you can share them once your break from social media is over. You'll get a taste of what life without social media is like and perhaps you'll like it that way. If not, that's okay but at least you'll know it is possible to live without it. Social media has its fair share or positive and negative effects. It never fails for you to see someone post hate about someone especially a celebrity. Imagine how low you have to be to criticize someone that you don't even know personally. But this happens everyday! On the other hand, you can see great things happen such as people fundraising for a great cause because with the help of social media, they were able to spread the word.

And there you have it, social media has shaped our life in the past few years for both the better and the worst. Are you an avid social media user? What is your take?

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
