I Have No Clue What I'm Doing After College And As A College Senior I'm OK With That

Starting your senior year of college can be really exciting, but also really terrifying because there are so many unknowns. It can seem like everyone around you is expecting you to know every little detail of what you're supposed to do. You need to know exactly what job you're going to apply for or exactly what Master's program you're going into and have everything all ready to go to apply to both. It can feel like the weight of all these expectations are crushing you, but don't let them.

Just because you don't know what you are doing after graduation, doesn't mean that you won't be able to do things. It's completely okay to not know what you're doing. Most people don't know what they're doing so you are not the only one who feels like this.

I had to come to this realization over the past few weeks and let me tell you, it is so much less stress to know that it is okay to not know what I am doing that to freak out and worry over all these other expectations. I had a whole conversation with my mom about this and the fact that she said it was okay to not know exactly what I'm doing was so reassuring to hear.

I know it can be one of those things where you start to worry and then you just spiral downhill from there as you get caught up in your head. But don't let that consume your senior year. It's your senior year of college and this should be a time where you are enjoying your last year in college. Make the most of it and enjoy the classes and the time that you have left before you have to actually go out into the real world.

If you don't know what you want to do or everything after graduation just terrifies you just take a moment to breathe and slowly ease yourself into it. Look at a few jobs here and there or look at a master's program once a week or something and ease yourself into it so you don't get too overwhelmed and then go deeper as you get more comfortable!

In the end, no matter what happens, you will graduate, you'll figure out what you're going to do. That job will come along and it will work out. Even if you graduate and you still don't know what you are going to do, that is okay. There is such a stigma and an expectation that we as college students are supposed to immediately have our lives together and know every little detail about what we're going to do and then get judged for it when we don't know.

It doesn't matter if you don't know. Life is crazy and can change in the blink of an eye. Plus in the end, you got this and God's got you!

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
