"I'm going to go to the gym today" "I'm not gonna go out tonight" "I'll study for that test 2 weeks before." Whether you realize it or not, as a college student, your whole day is full of lies that you tell yourself to get you through your day. Although in the moment these lies may not seem so bad, as you go through the day you go through a journey of realizing how those lies screwed you over.
1. That 7 a.m alarm for your 8 a.m class.
You're either one of 2 people. You're either the person who presses snooze, or you're the person that tells yourself you're going to get up in 5 minutes and don't ever end up waking up.
2. I don't need to go to this class today, I already know what we are learning.
Chances are, you don't know what you are learning you're just too lazy to go to class but somehow are convincing yourself that your presence isn't needed.
3. My diet is starting on Monday.
And here we are—it's Monday and you're eating a bagel for breakfast.
4. I'm going to go to the gym today.
Well, I just hiked up a set of stairs and walked up a hill so I guess I already had my workout of the day.
5. *Goes out for dinner every night*
I definitely haven't spent that much money this week, I've had inexpensive meals.
6. I'm not going to drink tonight.
You say that as you're getting ready to pregame.
7. I'm going to wake up early and study before my test.
And then you wake up 15 minutes before your test.
8. I'm going to go to office hours.
Well you've just had class from 12-5 so do you really want to see your professor again? NO
9. I'm only going to watch one more episode of "One Tree Hill on Netflix."
*Watches 4 more episodes and falls asleep*
10. I'm so excited for this semester!!!
*Sits and drowns in work and wonders how they are going to make it through*
