Letting Go, And Letting God

I am trading my troubles for triumph.

Letting Go, And Letting God
Bailey Welshans

I am definitely the type of person that likes to have everything planned out- I like order, and peace. However, I've realized that when life hits, it hits hard.

I have found that the more I try to control the present, and even more the future, the more I live in chaos and clutter. That's funny isn't it?.....Well, the more I live in chaos, the more I desire to have peace. I'm sure I'm not the only one who has felt this way. I think there comes a time where the demands of the world become too much for us to handle. That's why the Lord offers us His presence and His peace. In it, we find that His grace is so merciful. When we sit in the Father's presence, the demands the world asks of us become tiny. They don't completely go away, but they do become so much smaller.

I have found myself lately desiring to be in that resting place He so freely offers us. Summer is a busy season for me, as it is for many others, and there comes a time when our mind can't wrap around it anymore.

The thing I personally always forget to do, is breathe. I forget to come to the Father, and simply rest at His feet. It's not intentional, but we get caught up in our responsibilities, that we forget the simple things. What would are lives be like, if we started living each day with intention. Getting real, and getting peace. Getting order, and getting comfort. Starting our days with a simple prayer. Giving the day to the Lord, and throughout the day, making quiet time to spend with Him. Letting His love embrace your sweet soul, and rest. This world lives in chaos. It lives in a state of complete disorder.

Being Christians, we don't have to live like that. We serve a God of order and tidiness. Therefore, that is how we can live. I get it, when work, school, and home life collide, life becomes cluttered. But, Jesus desires for you to come to Him seeking peace. We will never leave hungry after spending time with Him.

I am trading my troubles for triumph. The statement "Give me Jesus" has taken me to a whole new level of peace. Seeking Him, giving Him my all, and learning that His way, is always the better way. I want to challenge you to do the same. Why pass up such an open invitation to find the peace and comfort you have desired to find for so long? It stands right in front of you. Seek, and you shall find.

// Mark 6:31 Then, because so many people were coming and going that they did not even have the chance to eat, he said to them, "Come with me by yourselves to a quiet place, and get some rest."

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
