A Letter To The Girl Who Changed My Life For The Better

Nothing beats a best friend in my opinion!

I think the first thing I'll say, is thank you. Thank you so much for being my best friend. You have changed my life in a way that has made me such a good person and I'm so blessed to have you as my best friend.

As we enter our senior year this coming fall, I realize how much time will more than likely be spent between the two of us and how great it will be to experience senior homecoming, senior prom, graduation and senior year in general, together. From the time we met, when we were in the same second grade class, to when we became friends when we were in middle school, to now, I look back and see how much our lives have changed and what we've gone through together. We've gone through boyfriends, drama, different friends, and all the stress that's involved in school altogether, but no matter what we've gone through, we've always come back to be the best friends we're meant to be.

I'll always love our jam out sessions of 90's throwback music when we drive in the car or during a photo shoot, our idiotic snapchats of us dancing and jamming out that only the other should ever, ever see, the laughs we share during a conversation when catching up together, even while watching a funny video, and sometimes even in our sassy, sarcastic comments to each other. As my best friend, there's no amount of thanks I can shower you with for all of the times you've been there to pull me out of sadness and hug me when I'm down, how many times I've come to you for advice, all the times you've been there to make me realize who I am and what I'm capable of as a person, and all the times you've been there to just be a best friend to me.

Another thing I want to recognize is how much of an amazing person you are in general. You are one of the sweetest, most loving, most caring, funniest people I've ever come to meet, and I can't thank you enough for showing me not only what it's like to be friends with such a person, but to be such a person. You've pushed your way into my heart, and there will always be such a spot for you.

I'll never forget all of the memories we've shared together. I couldn't think of anyone else I would want to stress about school with, senior year and the up and coming college years. I wouldn't want to go on Qdoba dates with anybody else. I can't imagine a better person to share the soccer field with and even better, a person to share my senior year with.

I hope that our friendship continues for as long as it can, because you are my best friend, and I can't express how much you mean to me. Love you, boo.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
