Dear Mini Me,

It's only been 2 short years since you have entered my life. And in those 2 short years, you have taught me so much already. It's true when people say you can meet one single person and it changes your life for the better, and you are that person. Never in a million years would I ever think a tiny human being who weighs 22 pounds would mean the whole entire world to me.

The day you were born, I instantly started crying because of how beautiful you were. You were the tiniest little person I have ever seen and I couldn't believe that you were part of my family. Watching you grow up has and always will be one of my favorite things. From your first words to your first steps, those are the type of things that will be stuck in my mind forever.

I never ever want you to change. I know in the future that boys will hurt you, friendships will end and that you'll argue with your parents (I've argued about things with your mom for 19 years now...). But I hope you always remember that I will always be here for you and will talk to you about anything. I've been through the heartbreaks and everything along those lines, so I will help you through anything.

I was at one of the lowest points of my life last year, to the point where I wanted to end my life. But you were always on my mind and you were one of the biggest reasons why I didn't want to leave this world. I want to be the strongest person and the biggest role model I can be for you.

I know that in a blink of an eye, you'll become a teenager, then get your license and then soon head off to college. But I hope you always remember how much I love you and how much you mean to me. No matter how far away I am from you at times, I will ALWAYS be there to support you, spoil you and love you like no other. I am the luckiest girl in the world to be blessed with a niece like you.

Love,

Your Auntie

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
