Dear Uncle Dave,

This Fourth of July, you and your love for this holiday are what I am thinking about most. It will never be the same. I know that you will be watching all of the fireworks with us, I bet the view is awesome from Heaven.

We were talking about you the other day, Gina, Aunt Charlotte and I, and Gina said she’d miss the smile you had when you lit off the fireworks that made the screeching sound because you knew how much she hated them.

I’ll miss how every hour it seemed like you’d light some firecrackers and throw them at Zach, Rob or Uncle Phil, or whoever the lucky victim was. Uncle Phil’s reaction was always the funniest.

Thank you for always cutting firewood with Uncle Phil so that we could have s’mores at the river. Thank you for always taking me for four wheeler rides when I wasn’t old enough to drive them yet, or asked you to take me back up to the house. Thank you for teaching me how to fish even though I wouldn't touch the fish if I caught one. Thank you for helping Uncle Phil put so many great firework shows together. I am truly lucky that I had you for an uncle.

Matt said that his favorite thing about you was that you didn’t say much, but you were always the nicest and told the funniest jokes.

You loved showing us funny videos, and even scary ones to me just to mess with me. I remember you had the Halloween theme song as your ringtone and you’d play it whenever I walked upstairs ‘cause you knew it scared me.

It saddens me that I now have one less uncle, and that your brothers and sisters and Grandma Jean will never be the same without you. Mom tried so hard to be strong for me and I told her it was okay to cry. I cannot imagine how broken I would be if I lost Zach. To see Aunt Charlotte and Mom and all of my uncles in that kind of pain broke my heart. We all miss you so much Uncle Dave, and since everyone in this family loves to take pictures, especially Aunt Charlotte, we have so many memories to look back on and be happy about, it helps to laugh instead of cry.

Always remember the good times, and never take this life for granted, make as many memories as possible.

Uncle Dave, you were one of the kindest, funniest and caring people. All of the other angels up there are lucky to have you. I hope there are lots of fun roller coasters in Heaven, and I hope Lady Bud and Daisy Bud are riding them with you.

I love and miss you Uncle Dave, we all do.

Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
