You can be annoying. You get on my nerves. You hide my stuff. You have the biggest attitude I've ever seen on an 11-year-old. You can definitely push my buttons. You get out of everything. And I'm almost positive you're the favorite. But above everything else, you are my best friend.
You may say you can't wait for me to graduate and leave the house and you call first dibs on my room when I leave for college, but don't think I don't notice you get a little upset when I start talking to mom about college. I get it, you don't want to be "soft." I know that you want to show everyone that nothing upsets you, that you're "Mr. Tough-Guy." Sorry to break it to you, bud, but that's not you. You're even better. Things upset you sometimes, that's OK, it makes you human. Everybody gets upset over stuff, you aren't the only one. And yes, you still have to walk out of the room as soon as "in the arms of an angel" comes on for the ASPCA commercial. (Don't we all?) That's just who you are, and I wouldn't change a thing about you.
Seeing you be your goofy self every day always makes me smile no matter how bad of a day I've had. You come home from school, throw your backpack on the floor near the closet door, pull out your iPad, and start watching YouTube videos. (I don't think you realize, but you secretly cheer on one of the characters you're watching when they battle). You view the world as a game, and there's nothing wrong with that. You're full of energy, and obviously you don't know the word walk. (But really...you're like a cheetah) But that's alright. Just keep being you, and never let the world change who you are. You're so headstrong and willing to do everything. You're already willing to take on the world. But, slow down little man, you aren't there yet.
You're starting middle school in a few months, (where has the time gone?!?!) and it can be hard. I hated middle school with a burning passion. It's that awkward phase between the little guys in elementary school, and the giants in high school. You're going to make new friends, and you're going to lose friends. You're going to have seven teachers instead of one, you're going to have your own locker, and you're going to have a lot more homework than you're used to. It's gonna be hard and it might be a little scary. But I know who you are, and so do you. As long as you stick to being your goofy fun-loving self, you'll be alright.
No matter where college takes me, I will always be your big sister.
I love you buddy,
Big Sis
