"A dog is the only thing on earth that loves you more than you love yourself." - Josh Billings

To my Lily,

It is that time again, the time you and I have been dreading. I'm going back to school forcing me to leave you at home; even though you're a dog I think you know what is happening as you sit there watching me slowly emptying out our room. I want to make this letter short and sweet just like you.

I remember when I first laid eyes on you, you were the most beautiful little pug I have ever seen. You were the runt of the litter so you are smaller than the average pug and knowing that you were a little different I just knew you were for me. You and I are a little different and that's okay because we even each other out making us a perfect match. Lily, you are so perfectly imperfect and I will miss you more than you know. I hope that you never think I am forgetting about you because I never will. We did well my first year, mom let me face time you and sent me pictures every week. I'm never ashamed that I like face timing you I never want you to think I don't love you. I love knowing you have your sister Maxie there to cuddle with you when you're cold.

I'm happy to know you will be well taken care of because you are a spoiled brat but you're my spoiled brat and that's okay. I know the first few weeks will be the hardest and you will feel lonely in our room but I promise I won't be gone forever. I'll ask mom to bring you down and I'll take you around the city I know you'll love it. I'll miss our cuddle sessions and our pool time. Although I complain about it the most I will miss your loud snorts because the room will be so quiet without you and that's when I will miss you the most.

So, my baby, I want you to know how much I love you and how much I will miss you. behave for my mom, you and she need to stick together because she'll miss me too. Be brave when thunder storms come I promise it won't hurt you.

so please do not worry I will see you soon.

Love you always,

Mom

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
