A Letter To My Baby Sister

You'll always be a baby to me, get over it.

Hey girl hey!

Let's start from the very beginning, shall we? I remember the very first moment we met. Just over eleven years ago: I was ten, you were mere minutes old. You were the world's prettiest lady then, and you still are today. I can't help but think of just how privileged I am to have the opportunity to watch you grow. There are some things I'd like to remind you.

I will always be there for you. I know it probably seems like I'm unreachable these days, so far from home and always busy. Nevertheless, I've got your back no matter what, and I would go to the ends of the earth to help you when you need me.

You should always dream big. You've got so much potential. Always keep in mind that the possibilities for your future are endless, and you are in control of how it turns out.

Be sure to love yourself. So many others do. You're beautiful, kind, intelligent, and so much more. Make sure you make time to recognize and appreciate your amazing qualities.

Stay in school. Despite how much you hate math, remember that your education will help shape your future in so many ways. Not only are you going to gain so much knowledge over the years, but you'll also make friends and plenty of memories in this time period.

P.S.: I hate math too. There are other things to study, don't worry.

Appreciate the things that end. Whether it be relationships of all types, opportunities, moments, or experiences, keep in mind that there will always be more. You can always learn to love again after a heartbreak. You can always pursue a different career path. You can always explore a new part of the world. No matter what, your opportunities remain endless. Don't think that you should ever feel stuck after something temporary runs its course.

Treat yo'self. Sometimes you're gonna just need to splurge. And guess what, you deserve it! Eat some ice cream, go to a concert, do something that makes you happy. As life progresses, this'll help you through your challenges.

Love others. The world is a big place filled with so many different, wonderful people. Don't let your differences separate you from them. Rather, reach out and make connections. Learn new languages. Venture to new places and broaden your horizons to learn about who and what is out there.

Most importantly, try not to grow up so fast. Honestly, you're not giving us enough time to keep up with you. Maybe you could try staying a preteen for at least a couple more years? As much as it's exciting to get older, it's difficult for those around you. We only get to see you in each of these stages for so long, and it hurts because as soon as we get to be mesmerized by where you're at in life, you're already moving on to the next chapter. Life is short, and it passes fast.

All my love,

Your Proud Big Brother.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
