A letter of thanks to my person

We all have that one person who is a constant in our lives. Someone who motivates us and pushes us to do better in our work life and in our real life outside of work. I first met this incredible woman while working at my current job. I needed some help and decided I'd take the risk and ask her. Well it's safe to say that was the best decision I ever made. This woman is so amazing in everything she does and I'm incredibly grateful to have her in my life.

Dear Bethany,

First off let me say thank you for being such an incredible mentor and friend. Over the past year I've learned so much from you. Thank you for all the opportunities you gave me when I worked under you.

You are one of the most down to earth people I have ever met, you're like another mom to me, and I just want to say how lucky I am to know you.

Let me also say, I believe in you. I believe in you the same way you've constantly believed in me. I know you're not in the place you thought you'd be in today/now. But let me say that you are capable of so many wonderful things. I know things are really rough right now and the seas are being tested. But you are an overcomer.

While I know this is so rough for you, The unknown is what is so exciting about our life on earth. The fear of the unknown is scary. But that is what makes everything more worthwhile.

Thank you for being a constant in my life. I'm definitely not used to that. You have never given up on me and that is why I am writing this article.

When I look back on everything that has happened in 2016 the one thing in my life that was the best was you. Through every tough spot you were there giving me tough love at times when I didn't want to see or hear it. You never gave up on me. Through every selfish bitchy moment you've always been there. And I have truly never been so grateful for one human in my life.

We've both had people in our lives that have literally just dropped us like hats and this year it just happened to be a lot of people. While it sucks, I'm so glad I still have you.

You're an incredible author. You write such amazing stories and you deserve much more recognition than you have been getting. I must say I am a fan of everything you have written and due to that, you have inspired me to write more.

I want to say thank you for being such an incredible mentor to me. You have taught me more about life and about myself than anyone ever has. Without your guidance, I'd never be where I am right now. You were one of the best parts of 2016.

I love you so much and I'm grateful to have you in my life.

Love,

Me

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
